Chapter 990: She Would Probably Leave Him For Another Man
"I heard that you are very close with Celestial Master Zuo. Are you fond of him? Will you marry him?" Ying Yannuo was reluctant to give in.
Gu Xijiu was taken by surprise. Di Fuyi had once promised her that he would marry her when she turned 18 years old. She used to think that he was serious, but now, she was not quite sure about it. She had not seen him for the past year and a half. He had failed to keep his promise. She did not even know where he was now and had no way of finding out either. It was uncertain whether he would marry her or not.
She did not wish to discuss the topic further with Ying Yannuo, so she threw the fruit at him instead, "A child should not interfere with the affairs of a grown-up. Come, finish the fruit and you will recover in no time." She then turned and entered the carriage.
Di Fuyi did not answer. He took a look at his tiny hands and suddenly realized that it was of utmost importance that he regained his original body. If he still could not return to his usual self, she would probably leave him for another man.
It was a long journey to Tianwen Mountain and would take two days for the flying lion to get there. At dusk, they decided to settle in at a small town to have a meal and also to take a rest for the night before they proceeded with their journey.
Though Ying Yannuo was physically unwell, he was still picky when it came to food, so they had to find the best restaurant in town to have their dinner. However, their timing was off as it was precisely mealtime, so the restaurant had no spare private room, and there was only one table left for them to choose.
Gu Xijiu had an excellent appearance with her beautiful face and curvaceous body. She did not disguise herself. Moreover, her spiritual power had achieved level seven. Her complexion was fair and crystal clear. Her body was even surrounded by a faint glow of halo. She always became the center of attention regardless of where she went.
Di Fuyi was as beautiful as a porcelain doll, and he looked so tender and lovely. The people could hardly take their eyes off of him.
Both of them had attracted the attention of the entire hall. The peoples gaze followed them all the way until they were seated at their table.
They were used to being stared at, so it did not bother them at all.
Di Fuyi used to spend a lot of time visiting the continent over the years, so he was quite familiar with the area. He could easily name the local specialty and good food that the place had to offer. Moreover, he understood Gu Xijiu’s taste, so he ordered their dinner without even looking at the menu.
After some time, a young man with a fan in his hand suddenly approached them from the side. The man had a handsome face, and he smiled gently at Gu Xijiu, "Miss, you look somehow familiar to me. It feels like we have met somewhere before..."
Gu Xijiu frowned at him. She had encountered these type of pick-up lines countless times, and so she was already immune to it and did not respond.
The young man had clearly brought contempt upon himself, but he seemed careless about it. Instead, he instructed the waiter who was standing at the side, "This lady seems to be an old friend of mine, and so I shall pay for their bill." He then turned to look at Gu Xijiu smilingly, "You can order anything that you like. This meal is my treat."
Just when Gu Xijiu was about to say something, Di Fuyi blinked his eyes at him and interrupted, "Are you going to treat us?"
The young man nodded, "Yes, the lady happens to be my old friend..."
Di Fuyi continued to interrupt him, "All right, I will help myself then."
He disregarded the menu and added on dozens of dishes. Every dish was a signature dish, and all the dishes were utterly expensive.
The young man’s face turned pale. He smiled forcefully, "Little man, do you have to order so much food? Surely you will not be able to finish the dishes. It is bad for you to waste food."
Di Fuyi looked at him instead, "You cannot afford to pay for it, can you?"
The man was speechless. All the dishes would add up to about seven or eight hundred silvers. Though he was rich, he did not have enough money with him at the moment.
