Chapter 260 Completing The Directional Quest
Just like Catherine said, he was no longer eligible for the quest from the hyper ball blaster given how much he had improved since the last time he used it but that didn\'t mean that he wasn\'t going to get a quest.
Instead of giving him the quests one by one which would be easy for him up to level seven, it decided to join everything together and make it a little challenging for him.
"This is going to be fun." The goalkeeper muttered before he pushed the start button and quickly made his way to the goalpost.
The first one was level three and he had to keep our three balls in this level before the blaster would switch to the next level.
This level was like a walk in the park for the goalkeeper as he kept out all the balls without breaking a sweat.
The next level was a bit tougher as expected but he wasn\'t letting his guard down for anything and ended up keeping out all the balls in that level too.
\'Level five.\' He said subconsciously after slowly getting up from the floor.
This was where things started to get a bit tricky for him.
The first ball from this level was sent flying toward the top right-hand corner of the goalpost but he was quick enough to get there on time and hit it down with his left hand.
The second one was quickly sent flying toward the bottom left-hand side as Dave quickly stretched his leg toward it but it didn\'t look like he was going to reach it on time.
[ Ball magnet activated ]
With the help of ball magnet, he was able to make slight contact with the ball and that was all he needed to push the ball.
With that push, the ball hit the post before rolling out.
The third ball was sent flying toward the left side with a little elevation and Dave being close to the area at that time was able to stop it easily.
"That was a close call." He said before getting up from the floor.
Level six was tougher than level five but the goalkeeper was more alert now and was able to stop the balls from going.
<Time for the grand finale>
\'Yeah.\'
The first ball was fired directly toward him from the top but the shot power was immense.
Nevertheless, Dave was able to punch the ball out with just his right hand.
"How is there such a giant leap from level six to seven?"
<I don\'t know, maybe it\'s a fault or intentional> Catherine said. <Remember you have to keep out four balls in this level>
\'I know.\' The goalkeeper replied before punching out the ball which was sent flying toward the right side of his goalpost with just a little elevation.
The next ball was sent down the middle with a little bit of elevation to try and throw him and it worked as the goalkeeper went toward the left side of the goalpost but luckily for him, his legs happened to have gone in the right side to block the ball and send it rolling back.
"That was terribly close." He said before quickly getting up on his feet.
\'I just have to keep out this last one and it will be over.\'
He expected the last ball to be something trickier than the previous one, something that would completely throw him off course, but the ball was simply shot toward the left side and it wasn\'t even stretched that much away from the goalkeeper.
The shot power was there, but it was an easy save for the goalkeeper.
"That\'s it." He said before slowly sitting down on the floor.

\'It\'s going to take a while to level up again.\' He said subconsciously before getting up from the floor. \'I think it\'s time to go inside, I\'m tasty.\'
He slowly made his way to the door and just as he was about to place his hand on it and open it, the door was quickly pulled open by Emma startling him and causing him to almost fall.
"There you are." She said as soon as she set her gaze on him.
"You know that\'s no way to open a door." The goalkeeper said after regaining his balance.
"Oh, sorry about that." She said with a cheeky smile on her face.
Dave just let out a sigh before attempting to walk past her but she quickly shifted to block his path.
"What do you want?" The goalkeeper asked after letting out a sigh.
"Um….can I borrow your credit card?" She asked.
"You want to borrow my credit card?" He said just to make sure he heard him right.
"Yeah." She said with a nod.
"You\'ve never asked for my credit card before, are you trying to buy something expensive?" He asked before pulling his face closer to hers.
"No, no, not at all, trust me, it\'s far from that." She said.
"Then what is it?"
"Um…my card expired yesterday, I know you\'re going to say just order a new one but the bank isn\'t doing card delivery at the moment and I don\'t have the strength to head over there now."
<Does she usually talk that fast>
\'Only when she\'s desperate for something.\'
"So please, can I borrow your card, babe?" She asked in conclusion to her speed talking that most people would have trouble keeping up with.
There was no immediate response from Dave as the goalkeeper just stared at her.
"Hey, come on." She said before giving him the puppy look.
"Fine, it\'s in the lower drawer of the cupboard in the room, you\'ll find the key here." He said before handing his keys over to her.
"Thank you." She said with a smile before stretching to kiss him on his right cheek. "You\'re the best, I love you."
<Seriously, you\'re not going to ask her what she\'s going to buy with it?>
\'Yeah, forgot about that.\'
"So, babe….."
Before he could ask the question, she had already gotten to the staircase.
The only thing he could do was let out a sigh as he watched her disappear upstairs.
\'I\'m sure anything she wants to use it for will be important to her but I hope it\'s nothing too expensive.\' He said subconsciously.
After saying that in his mind, his nose led him to the kitchen where he found his mother-in-law making breakfast.
"Good morning, Mrs. Smith." He said after getting there.
"Oh, Dave, good morning," Martha said after turning her gaze to him.
The goalkeeper was about to ask her about what she was making when he heard Emma yell his name from the staircase.
"What?" The goalkeeper said before shifting out of the kitchen to see her.
"The pin!" She yelled.
"Oh, that."
"Yeah, that." She said, "What is it?"
"Um…my mom\'s birthday, you remember it right?"
"Of course!" She said with an elated voice before quickly making her way upstairs.
"Em.."
She didn\'t give him the chance to ask the question once again.
"Did she tell you what she was going to use your credit card for?" Martha asked as soon as he entered the kitchen again.
"No." He said before shaking his head.
"Oh." She said before turning her gaze back to what she was doing.
"Do you know what she wants to do with it?" The goalkeeper asked but Martha pretended not to hear him and kept doing what she was doing, even adding a little whistling to it.
<She knows something>
\'Yeah.\'
