Young Master in the Apocalypse

Chapter 79 - Voyage

Viktor passes through the mayor\'s office and told his companions that he would be leaving for a day or two.

After Jessie talked to the mayor and the mayor confirmed that Viktor was going to help the town, the mayor arranged for his companions to be released from their cell. Not only that, but they were also given an empty house to stay in.

They were initially elated with the turn of events, but their happiness soon turned to worry when they learned that Viktor had to go.

"I\'ll be fine, don\'t worry about it. You\'ll all be safe here, so wait here until I come back. Eva, you\'ll be in charge while I\'m gone. All of you, take care of her properly, okay!"

They were still a little worried, but Barry and the two bodyguards were more than happy to oblige. They had seen Viktor\'s ability, so they trusted him.

After talking to the other for a short while, Viktor went toward the eastern gate of the town, the other side of the bridge that faced the city.

When he finally arrived at the gate, Jessie was already waiting at the side. The girl looked as cheerful as always, but he found it odd that she was waiting on her own.

"Just you?" Viktor asked while he walked toward her.

"Of course not, silly. The others are already waiting at the dock," Jessie answered with a chuckle. She wondered why Viktor looked at her strangely as he walked closer, so that was why.

"Dock?" Viktor briefly paused, seemingly processing the information. "We are going by boat!?"

In response, the girl gave him a wink.

"I think we will have a lot of fun! Psych!" Jessie happily said before turning around and signaling for them to go.

The two then walked toward the abandoned city in Arkhangelsk. Viktor was observing the abandoned building with the Djinn sensor on standby, but Jessie was walking along the empty street so carefreely that it made him feel as if the apocalypse never came.

Viktor could not help but wonder, how could this girl be so easygoing at a time like this?

While he was still occupied with various thoughts, Jessie suddenly turned around and said, "Come on! Hurry up, will you?"

She is indeed an interesting girl, Viktor thought to himself. Earlier today, as soon as he showed her his metal-bending ability, the girl quickly agreed to his proposal. Moreover, she even added:

"This means... I\'m gonna hang around with you for a while, partner."

It would be fine if she said it normally, but the girl said it with a mischievous smile that made him believe there were ulterior motives involved.

Either way, now that both of them had mutually accepted the deal, Viktor planned to do everything in his power to help Jessie get all the parts she needed.

Their walk was peaceful; along the way, the two of them did not meet any monsters or zombies even until they reached the dock of Arkhangelsk Port.

Viktor was still a little confused about the plan, and as he closely observed the river on the way, he could see that it was mostly frozen. What\'s more, he was sure that the ice would be even thicker the further they went to the sea, making it impossible for them to travel by boat.

However, as soon as Viktor arrived at the dock, he finally understood what lied behind Jessie\'s smile

Now at the port in front of him were two dozen boats docked. Among those boats, the one that was currently boarded by people was one of the biggest, if not the biggest boat present.

To say it was a boat was a great understatement as what they were actually going to be traveling with was not just an ordinary boat, but an icebreaker.

With a length of 80 meters and a width of 20 meters, a strengthened pitch black hull, an ice-clearing shape, and the power to push through a sea of ice, this icebreaker was nothing short of a monster of the sea.

Viktor followed the girl and walked up to the vessel named MS Dikson.

Upon arriving, he realized that the man with the eye patch was already standing above the deck, watching him still with not much to say. Viktor, too, silently looked at the man in return, causing an awkward air to form between them. Noticing this, Jessie took the initiative and introduced the two properly.

"Viktor, this is Roman, a master fisherman and the captain of the ship. I hope you two can get along well!"

The man only nodded without a word and returned toward his crew to prepare the ship.

"An eyepatch man who is a captain of a ship… are you sure I am safe here?" Viktor asks in whisper.

"Hahaha… you are Funny Viktor, dont worry Roman is one of the nicest people i know"

Other than the sky-realm fighter named Roman, there were 10 more crew members on the ship. Out of all 10 of them, eight were part of Roman\'s fisherman crew while the other two were people that Jessie personally introduced.

"These two are my crew members, Bugs and Wade. Both of them are my trusted assistants, and they will assist me in handling the parts that we\'re going to be looking for at our destination," Jessie briefly introduced.

Bugs was a thin-looking man, and in contrast, Wade was a fat one. Both of them appeared to be in their twenties, and like the rest of the crew members, they were also at the high stage of the earth realm.

Noticing the composition of their crew, Viktor turned to look at Jessie and asked.

"Six fishermen and two technicians, are we still waiting for the badass fighter?"

In response to his words, Jessie smiled at him and gave another wink.

"Hahaha! That\'s where you come in, silly!"

Hearing this, Bugs put his hand on his chest and spoke.

"Don\'t worry, bro! We might not look much, but I assure you, we are reliable. Aren\'t we, Wade?" Bugs confidently spoke with his head up.

The fat young man, however, was yawning with his mouth wide open. He did not even realize that he was being asked.

"Wade, hello—! Wade!!"

"Ah, yes yes! We are… we are... sort of… ermm... What are we talking about, again?"

Viktor rolled his eyes. It seems that apart from Roman, who was a sky-realm fighter, and Jessie, who could cast lightning spells, there were not many dependable people here. No wonder Jessie was desperate for help.

At the same time, Viktor could only hope that the mission would be as simple as Jessie describes.

A few minutes later, the ship began shaking as its engine was on, and they were ready to sail.

Standing at the front of the ship, Jessie shouted loud enough for everyone aboard to hear.

"All right, everyone… Set sail!"
