Chapter 108 Emotional Damage
Yuan Chunhua continued to hug Jiang Ming for a few minutes before pulling back.
Her face had a slight redness on her cheek, but Jiang Ming paid it no mind.
Instead, he was more curious about her relationship with his aunt, Yang Liqin.
"How close are you to my aunt?" Jiang Ming asked. Being direct was better than delaying the doubt in his mind. If he were to delay it, then he was sure that his curiosity would be like millions of ants biting his brain.
Yuan Chunhua was taken aback by his question before realizing her mistakes in her previous sentences.
Once she realized her blunder, Yuan Chunhua knew that with the current cleverness of Jiang Ming, hiding the truth would be near impossible.
"Let\'s talk about it when we leave the Lei Clan," Yuan Chunhua said.
Jiang Ming nodded his head.
Sometime later, they left the Lei Clan and stood outside the gate.
"Greetings to Commander Yuan," Qizhi Shun quickly cupped his fist as soon as he noticed Yuan Chunhua.
He and the other Imperial Soldiers were ordered to stay outside by Yuan Chunhua when Lei Luoyang entered.
After all, Yuan Chunhua knew Lei Luoyang wouldn\'t be reckless enough to try and detain her or even harm her in any way.
They came in unannounced, surprising them. Therefore, only a fool would think about attacking the investigator authorized by Zhao Tong unless they are completely ready for a fallout.
Yuan Chunhua paused for a brief moment before pointing her finger around the Lei Clan.
"Qizhi Shun, have some men guard around the vicinity of the Lei Clan. I want to know exactly who comes in and who goes out." She ordered.
And she continued, "Remember, there will be no exception for those who failed to catch on to any suspicious people. I want the Lei Clan to be shut off from any outsiders."
"Yes, Commander Yuan." Qizhi Shun quickly responded and assigned a few soldiers for the task.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming waited patiently from the side, allowing Yuan Chunhua ample time to finish her plan and orders.
He didn\'t suspect Yuan Chunhua would do any foul play. She was still the respectable Instructor in his mind no matter her reason.
Time slowly passed by, and Yuan Chunhua finally finished instructing the Imperial Soldiers.
"I know that it\'s still early in the morning and the soldiers must have been tired. Bring them to a good restaurant to dine and wait for my call." Yuan Chunhua said.
Qizhi Shun nodded his head in understanding.
Throughout the conversation, he had already sensed something was wrong with Jiang Ming and had connected the dots with Yuan Chunhua.
Although he doesn\'t know what exactly had happened, he knew Yuan Chunhua giving the soldiers resting time was just an excuse so that she could secretly talk to Jiang Ming.
Imperial Soldiers are trained both physically and mentally. There was no way they would be tired after a few hours.
However, he wasn\'t going to do something stupid like expose her true motive. She is their highest commander currently, and going against her will is no different than fighting your superior. Only a fool would do something like that.
"Soldiers, we\'re going to a decent restaurant within the capital area and rest for a while." Qizhi Shun announced and started leading the group away from Yuan Chunhua.
Once Yuan Chunhua could no longer sense their presence, she turned around and smiled bitterly at Jiang Ming.
"Let\'s move a bit further away from the Lei Clan." She suggested.
Jiang Ming nodded his head. What they\'re about to discuss is something sensitive and personal.
A few minutes later, they walked toward an alley and set up a formation around them, concealing the area and preventing any possible eavesdropping from others.
"Alright, can you tell me the truth now, Instructor Yuan Chunhua?" Jiang Ming had his back leaned on the side of the wall as he asked calmly.
He wasn\'t mad that she was hiding something from him. He simply wanted to understand what their relationship was and how they knew each other.
"Sigh, your aunt wanted me to keep this a secret, but recently, she had stopped communicating with me." Yuan Chunhua held a bittersweet smile as she looked depressed.
"Ever since you got injured to the point of almost dying when I was in seclusion, she had ignored my call. She wouldn\'t even meet up with me even if I personally go to visit her."
"W-W-Wait a minute… you\'re telling me the reason why you visited my Moon Bazaar last time was for my aunt?"
Yuan Chunhua held a look that said "Isn\'t it obvious" at Jiang Ming, causing him to twitch his mouth.
\'Damn, I thought she was desperately looking for me, but it was just an excuse that she used to look for my aunt.\' Jiang Ming didn\'t know how to feel about this revelation.
Was he too narcissistic to believe every woman was looking for him?
This was a good lesson to learn that not all women would flock to him just because he showed some skills.
"Why do you look so disappointed?" Yuan Chunhua asked, seemingly ignorant of his current feelings.
Jiang Ming almost coughed up blood.
The Emotional Damage was way too hard.
"I-I-It\'s nothing," Jiang Ming stutteringly said, hoping to grasp every little bit of dignity possible.
Yuan Chunhua was dazed but decided to continue with her story.
"When you first entered the academy, we were already going to expel you due to your crappy talent. However, Yang Liqin had come to meet me personally, and… helped me out a lot in my cultivation."
"What kind of help did you receive?"
"I-I rather not talk about it." Yuan Chunhua blushed suddenly, causing Jiang Ming to be a bit suspicious.
He tried to pry further but to no avail. Yuan Chunhua was adamant about keeping the cultivation part a secret.
"Che, no wonder why you were so willing to personally teach me the entire time. It was because of my aunt and not my handsome face." Jiang Ming clicked his tongue in disappointment.
