Chapter 242 242 – Inside The Ocean
Emily yawned, looking at the dark seawater. The lighting from her submarine did help her sight, but what she saw was still a mass of water and the occasional fish.
Nothing appealed to the supreme undead. She had been doing this for days, and the boredom had gotten to her.
"Hey, Rilla," Emily called the mermaid. "How many days until we reach our destination?"
Rilla rubbed her chin, thinking for a moment. "Maybe in about a week, I guess?"
The supreme undead massaged her forehead. Yes, she had been in that undead cave for hundreds of years. But that doesn\'t mean she wants to repeat the same thing again.
After going out and seeing the outside world, she felt thrilled.
"But it seems we don\'t need to go to that creature\'s place," Rilla muttered. "He\'s coming to us."
"Huh?" Emily raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean…."
Just a second later, Emily already knew what Rilla meant. A black silhouette appeared in the distance, swimming towards the supreme undead.
"That creature wants to fight with us soon, huh?" she chuckled. "Good thing….."
She gasped as the figure drew closer. Unlike what she found in the lake at her base, that creature is much more massive.
That octopus-like being was probably over 100 feet tall, including the tentacles that danced through the water.
"Would you be able to make a pocket dimension portal his size, Tess?" The supreme undead asked the shapeshifter accompanying her.
It took a moment for Tess to respond. "I will try."
"You have to do it no matter what. I\'m not leaving here empty-handed."
"Little creatures." An echoing voice appeared in Emily\'s cockpit. The supreme undead could immediately guess that it was from the Kraken. "Get out of here. I wouldn\'t say I like fighting with all of you. We better mind our own business."
"Sorry, Lord Kraken." Despite her trembling body, Emily smiled. She was finally able to fight. "But it\'s nothing personal."
Emily pulled a lever in the cockpit, then stood up and spread her arms. A series of metal frames emerged from various directions and wrapped around her body. The submarine she was riding also began to change shape. Some of its parts moved, forming bodies, arms, and legs. That thing looks like a military mecha in anime.
Tess\' submarine did the same thing, and the shapeshifter also created a giant portal above her vehicle.
"Last warning." The Kraken spoke again. "You won\'t be able to fight me."
"Again, I am sorry." Emily\'s mecha retrieved a giant sword from the back. Then, thousands of skeletons in flipper-like shoes came out of Tess\' portal. They formed a formation to attack the Kraken. "We really need you."
Emily\'s mecha blitzed on the Kraken. But the undead supreme had to dodge the attacks from the monster\'s tentacles.
Rilla spouted out high-pressure force from her mouth, creating tiny bubbles that deflected a tentacle.
"Thanks, Rilla!" Emily cried out, nearly getting grabbed by the tentacles.
After struggling hard, Emily finally managed to get close to the massive monster\'s body. She plunged her sword into it, then swam fast, causing a long diagonal wound.
"Things like this are nothing to me."
One of the Kraken\'s tentacles hit Emily\'s mecha, sending it flying and spinning in the water. She also saw that the body parts of her undead troops were all over the place.
Emily did a maneuver and brought the mech to a halt. She found that a huge light portal started forming behind the Kraken. However, that thing is only half the size of that giant being\'s body.
"Can\'t you make it bigger, Tess?" Emily asked through the communication device.
"I\'m trying, lady Emily."
"Do it, or I will kill you." Emily again drove at high speed towards the Kraken, regardless of the strange vibrations she felt in the submarine. "Me, Rilla, and the undeads will distract him."
There was no other way. They had to finish this.
"Die, you damn kraken!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
"I told you, it\'s useless." The kraken responded. "I don\'t know why you want me, but I can\'t go far from the sea."
Emily kept trying to attack. However, the movements of the Kraken\'s tentacles grew fiercer. Emily\'s mecha was blown several times by those things.
Her undead army had also begun to dwindle a lot.
Only Rilla is still fine. She could always dodge the Kraken\'s tentacles. Unfortunately, her attacks don\'t have a significant impact on that creature.
"Fuck!" Emily is frustrated. The portal behind the Kraken is getting bigger, but she doesn\'t know how to push that creature into it.
Everything they did still had no effect whatsoever.
"Keep distracting him, Emily," Rilla said. "I think I can do something."
"You just said now?" Emily asked.
The mermaid stared at the supreme undead. "That\'s because I just felt it now. A new power seems to be growing within me for no apparent reason. Maybe because of this intense situation..."
"Keep the explanation! Just do it!"
Emily lunged at her opponent again while Rilla stayed where she was and concentrated. Slowly, the water being\'s eyes flashed a cyan light.
The supreme undead continued to attack the Kraken, even though her mecha was hit by the tentacles repeatedly. She began to feel that the vehicle could no longer move according to her will, a sign that the damage to that thing was severe.
And that was coupled with the ever-decreasing army of undead.
"I changed my mind." The Kraken spoke again. "I\'m getting angry. You don\'t want to go, even though I\'ve given you a chance. I\'ll finish you off without a trace."
"Can\'t you just do it now, Rilla!" Emily struggled to avoid the umpteenth attack. The mecha\'s left leg had been cut off. "We won\'t be able to survive at this rate."
Finally, Rilla opened her mouth, spitting an even more massive amount of propulsive bubbles. The blast hit the Kraken\'s body hard, sending it rolling backward.
"Yes! You are great, Rilla! I will make you my honorary sister!" Emily cheered with joy. But in an instant, the euphoria of victory she felt disappeared.
The force from Rilla\'s attack was still not enough to push the Kraken into the portal.
